Welcome to Digital Iris

Unlike any other artistic medium, photography paints a world stroked out of the most vivid and solid reality:  hewn from rock stained with centuries of  history, the  erosion of the seasons and the complex map of human emotion.  Sharper than any painting, the digital eye is the ultimate thief, stealing yet preserving pockets of time, forever frozen and unique.

The five main pages of Digital Iris Photography host samples of past recent projects, mainly consisting of portraits, photo-shoots, landscapes and architecture, undertaken both locally in Malta, as well as abroad.

Anyone interested in our services is welcome to contact us by using the e-mail address supplied on the upper right side of each page.  All images are available for sale in many different sizes as prints or posters.

In the meantime, feel free to browse through the collections   listed below and in the menu on the upper left side of each page.

Enjoy!

Heart of Stone

Forgotten footsteps and whispering shadows:  stone rocks its ghosts to sleep and watches your every move.

Sky & Water

The world as it once was and as it should be. Water pouring down hills and into valleys. Trees  with green fingers reach skyward, bursting to flee their  grasping, mangled siblings that frost-smitten, lie down to feed the earth. Skyscapes...rowers racing towards winter, the approaching finish-line, creeping in on the first cold breeze from the mountains....

Flesh & Bone

Thousands of candles in a harmonious concert of light!  The human spirit is most similar to a candle,  defiantly braving the darkness when this is at its deepest...even with just a flicker. It is this light -  this spirit which makes each human unique.

Local Colour

The island of Malta may seem small, but it has unique features of its own, by which it can compete with other, larger countries that boast of a rich heritage.  That offered by this tiny Mediterranean island is equally rich, with megaliths that were built before many of the established icons of the ancient world. Malta may seem barren -especially to the tourist who is looking out of a plane window - but the peaceful groves of vegetation are as unique in character and as different from anything else that may be seen elsewhere.

Monochrome Vintage

The art of Black and White photography still surpasses colours when it comes to conveying a dramatic or vintage effect, due to the subtle gradations between various shades of grey.
